Songdo Beach was the first official public beach in all of Korea. The beach opened in 1913 and in 2000 underwent 5 years of reservation and planning to make it more popular for tourists.
The beach is horseshoe shaped and surrounded by restaurants, apartments and hotels. At the night it can be quite romantic with the perfect spot to watch the sunset and view the lights from the businesses lit up. In the distance you can see Jagalchi Fish Market.
There are rest areas near the beach where you can have picnics or drink with friends also available are shower and changing rooms. In the ocean there are some cool whale statue structures and other things to see. The beach is quaint and the perfect location to relax and have your own space unlike the bustling Haeundae Beach.
