Seonyudo Hangang Park is an island located on the Hangang River. The island is 110,000㎡ in size. There used to be a water purification plant located at this site which closed a few years ago. Seonyudo Island is connected to land by the Seonyugyo Bridge, which is a pedestrian only bridge and by Yanghwadaegyo Bridge. There is no vehicle access to Seonyudo Island, so although being in the centre of Seoul it feels like you are miles away from civilization and it is the perfect spot to relax. The structure of the water purification plant left behind was incorporated into the park and tanks were turned into fish tanks and pillars were covered with vines. You can get some great views of Seoul city, National Assembly Building and the World Cup Stadium from the island.
There are many things to do and see at Seonyudo Island. There is the Hangang Museum (09:00 – 18:00), Information Centre, Water Playground for Children, Aquatic Botanical Garden, Green house, World Cup Fountain, a Wild Plant Life Zone and many more things.
Opening Hours
The park is open 24 hours a day.
