The Kimchi Museum of Seoul is located in Coex Shopping Mall and opened in Coex Mall in 1988 to promote Kimchi to the many arriving international tourists for the Seoul Olympics. The museum only takes 30 – 40 minutes to explore and is very popular with people visiting the Coex Mall. Kimchi is a very popular and traditional Korean dish made from fermented vegetables and spices. The museum shows us how Kimchi is made and stored and the different types all around Korea. You even have the chance to taste some different types of Kimchi and join a program and make your own.
The museum is divided up into different sections with each providing a different aspect about Kimchi such as it’s nutrients, ingredients, varieties, the history and transition among other things.
Opening Hours / Admission
10:00 am – 18:00 pm Tuesday to Sunday. Last admission 30 minutes before closing. Closed on Monday’s, New Years Day, Lunar New Year, Christmas and Chuseok.

How to get to the Kimchi Museum in Coex Mall Seoul:
The museum is located on the B2 floor of Coex Mall.
Take line 2 to Samseong station. Coex Shopping Mall is connected to the subway station.
