Gwangneung Royal Tomb in Gyeonggi-do holds the Royal Tomb of King Sejo, the 7th King of the Joseon Dynasty and his wife Queen Jeonghui. King Sejo was the second son of King Sejong the Great and in is his reign he had many achievements. The tombs are enshrined separately and are facing each other from two hilltops. The whole area around the tombs is a forest that has been well preserved over the years and is now famous for it’s natural beauty and abundance of wildlife. Also at Gwangneung Tomb Site you can find Hwigyeongwon and Yeongbinmyo. These are the lower grade type of tombs and were built for 2 royal concubines of the Joseon Kings.

March – October: 09:00 am – 18:30 pm
November – February: 09:00 am – 17:30 pm
Closed on Mondays. Last admission is 1 hour before closing.
Admission:
1,000 won for adults and 500 won for children.
How to get to Gwangneung Royal Tomb Gyeonggi-do:
Ride subway line 1 to Cheongyangni station. Leave exit 4 and get on bus 707. Get off at Gwangneungnae (광릉내종점) stop, the end of the bus line and transfer to bus 21 and get off at Gwangneung (광릉). This is the stop in front of Gwangneung Royal Tomb.
